A Guide to Online Shopping Services
Tips
Tired of entering data into online forms over and over again when making your purchase. Well, the good news is that you don't have to. Go to www.google.com and click on "more". You will will a list of google options. Click on tools and then then download the google toolbar. The toolbar has an auto fill feature. Once you enter your data into it, you just click on the auto fill icon and you are done. Only enter the information that you are comfortable with. You may not want to enter your credit card information, just to be on the safe side. There are probably other auto fill toolbars out there. I just happen to use the one that google has. If you do a lot of shopping, this is a must!
Consider installing the free spoofstick software that is mentioned earlier. It will identify the server you are connected to and is just another one of those ways to mitigate your risk when shopping online.
Consider using a unique email for your shopping online. You will be able to keep unwanted email from your regular personal email.
Always print a copy of your purchase order that has your order number and tracking information on it. I also have a folder called "purchase orders" that I use to put all of my purchase confirmations into.
