blue HOLE Tile & Stone Sucks
We have had a very bad experience with this company and want to share it with others so that they won't fall for the same smooth talking non substance nonsense. Our contractor, at the time, hired this outfit to finish some work in our new home under construction. It included a kitchen, bath, and fireplace. The bid for the job was a total of $5,371 with 50% down and remainder upon completion. That occurred on September 19, 2007. Work progressed very slowly and we rarely saw Mr. McSherry, the owner. On October 30th, Mr. McSherry approached me and indicated that he would like another $1,000 payment, as he had to pay his labor and things were tight. He talked about spending more time and possibly evening some evenings to finish up the work. Like a fool, I fell for this, and I have not seen Mr. McSherry since. I have asked Mr. McSherry to return at least the $1,000 he took under false pretenses, but to no avail.
So, we have given up on this guy and have another person coming in to not only finish the job, but to fix the "problems" left behind by Mr. McSherry. Below you will see some pictures taken in January, 2008 of the work as left by Mr. McSherry. Note that what you see in the deco tiles is not grout, but thinset, generally used to secure tile to the backerboard. Also note the corner where no room was left for any grout. This is also a no-no. The last tile guy (twenty years experience) that looked at this room said it was the worst tile job he had ever seen! We will wind up having to remove tile to finish this job. We will be pursuing this in small claims court in the very near future. Washington law does require contractors to have a minimum bond, which we should be able to access when we win and this will affect his ability to get appropriate insurance in the future.
All this to say, blue HOLE Tile & Stone Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
